Charles Alfred Macaulay was born on the Isle of Lewis. Nothing is known of his family though he was a soldier. He served in the Royal Engineers during W.W.II.
He later suffered from severe "Shell Shock".
He married Doris Freda Ring from either Manchester or Liverpool.
